Amazing

I don't have much time to write this, and I don't think I can cram all the updates into a single post....but here goes:

1) I still work for the children's hospital from the last post.  I work for them from a remote location in Atlanta Ga.  Maybe that doesn't sound as remote as a cave or roving submarine, but let me assure you, it feels pretty remote.

2) My beautiful wife is 7 months pregnant.  She is as BIG AS A HOUSE.  I had to cut her toenails last night, which is something I swore I'd never do.  Okay, I didn't actually cut her toenails, I just pushed her foot up close to her face so she could cut them herself.  I don't know why I can't do it.  I just can't do it.  I took the nail polish off like a big boy though.

3) Last year Ana passed the GA Bar and is now an honest-to-god LAWYER!  She works for the Fulton County DA's office and looks at pictures of dead babies all day.  So its kind of a mixed bag.  She loves her job.

4)  I put on 60lbs when we moved to Minnesota.  When I got to Atlanta the trend continued and I topped out at 5'8" 250lbs.  So there's that.  I've never been this fat before so its kind of exciting...in a trapped in my own body kind of way.  But I work from home and my house dress is kind of cute.  I am clawing my way back though...down to 230.  Long way to go.

5)  I go on weekly bike rides with my Dad.  I call him Pops and steer the conversation away from politics whenever I can.  We've started bowling on Sunday.  My brother David comes and it is usually a good time.  They are terrible at losing.  I almost wrote "they are terrible losers" but that could be taken out of context.

6)  I have this nagging suspicion that life is a horror movie.  The first act is all roses as we meet the cast and learn some backstory, but it doesn't take long for terrible things to start happening to everybody.  Or maybe it is more about learning to deal with loss, and to genuinely love without conditions because life is so short.  It's a toss up.  Here are the sad and unfortunate things that have happened in the last year or so:

7)  Life goes on folks.  We're going to have a baby!  I can't wait to meet him.
